Biography

I provide technological direction and support for computational social science at the Center for Behavior, Institutions, and the Environment and the Global Biosocial Complexity Initiative. I lead cyberinfrastructure development for CoMSES Net, the Network for Computational Modeling for Social and Ecological Sciences, the Virtual Commons, a collection of open source software for collective action experiments, and also provide support for the Social Ecological Systems Library and the Digital Archaeological Record.

Research Interests

My current research interests apply my software engineering and systems administration and devops experience towards:

  1. improving our understanding of social and ecological systems at all scales with controlled and natural experiments, modeling, and data analysis 
  2. creating open software tools for data collection, analysis, integration, and archival workflows that support reusable and reproducible computational science
