Bio
After 30 years in Ohio she moved to the Southwest and after 14 years at ASU, Cory retired in July 2019. She was thrilled to be a part of the New American University. Cory provided organizational consulting and education through the Office of Human Resources Leadership and Workforce Development team. Professional development courses covered management skills, human relations skills, such as cultural awareness and communication, and management. Her work contributed to student success through staff and leadership development.
Cory has extensive experience in non-profit and state-funded organizations and has designed and delivered training in change management, cultural diversity, conflict management, performance improvement, supervisor/leader development, planning and marketing, and career self-management. She has developed products and services to address organizational performance, culture change, and leadership and talent management including succession management. She has conducted applied primary and secondary research for organizations and has created large and small group interactions for deans, chairs, directors and faculty.
She facilitates groups, teaches and trains in "flipped" classroom format, has extensive public-speaking experience and is qualified in assessments related to change management, teamwork, coaching and 360-degree feedback.
Cory spent more than 20 years in organizational consulting and coaching, formerly VP of Career Management and Organizational Consulting at Right Management Consultants, a Manpower company. She is a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the honorary business fraternity. She now operates Bowen by Cory, a bodywork practice specializing in somatic education. (Ask about discounts for ASU folks.) Closely related is her interest in the practical application of neuroscience to work and life. Hobbies include swimming and reading.
