Employee Assistance Counselor Senior
Amber Wonder received her master's degree in Counseling from Arizona State University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Arizona Board of Behavior Health Examiners, and a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. Her areas of clinical expertise include individual and family counseling to address anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, difficulties in the workplace, trauma, substance abuse, grief, and at-risk adolescent treatment.
Amber has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapeutic approach which focuses on processing overwhelming or traumatic experiences to increase insight, expand healthy coping skills, and release negative thoughts about the self. In addition, she has been trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and the Matrix curriculum - an evidence-based therapeutic intervention designed to assist adults and adolescents in substance abuse recovery. Amber joined the Employee Assistance Office in 2013, having previously worked as a counselor and supervisor in non-profit community mental health.
