Beginning as a Temp to Hire in 2009, Marcos embarked on a journey in Central Payroll, where the role offered a rich learning experience working with various colleges and internal departments. This early exposure laid a solid foundation in understanding the complexities of the institution's operations. In 2019, Marcos transitioned to the Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) division, where they initially focused on the finance side. However, their passion and skills quickly revealed a need within HR. By 2022, Marcos had risen to the position of HR Director. In this role, they played a pivotal part in streamlining HR functions, and creating consistency within EOSS. Today, Marcos continues to lead the HR Department, striving to provide exceptional services and guidance to all EOSS units.
Marcos initially pursued a degree in architecture but ultimately found their true calling in design and management. They earned a Bachelor’s degree in Design Management with a Minor in Urban Planning from Arizona State University (ASU). This educational background has provided Marcos with a unique perspective that blends creativity and strategic planning, which they have effectively applied throughout their professional career.
Marcos is married to an amazing wife, who is also an enthusiastic Sun Devil fan. Together, they have three growing kids who love to push the boundaries and keep life exciting. The family also includes a rescue dog from the pound, who is described as the best dog ever. A dedicated ASU Football fan, Marcos has been a season ticket holder since 2017, cherishing the energy and excitement of the game day experience.
