Ralston is the creator and director of the Make Media Lab, a video and photography lab for the students, faculty and staff of the Polytechnic campus. Ralston was the Communication Team Faculty Advisor for the U.S. Department of Energy sponsored competitive ASU EcoCAR 3 Team, as well as the faculty advisor for the GIT Club and EcoCAR Club.
Ralston is a member of the Educause Learning Initiative (ELI), the Online Learning Consortium, AIGA and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology. She has been a first round judge in the Software & Information Industry Association CODiE Awards for several years, as well as a proposal reviewer for grant programs and conferences. She is a member of the ASU Instructional Designer's Group and was on the LMS evaluation team that led to the adoption of Canvas.
Past Experience:
Ralston has spent most of the last two decades at ASU. This included serving as the assistant project manager of the eLearning Network, a federally-funded grant project in ASU's College of Education; providing technology services to the students, faculty and staff at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law for one year, then serving as the director of information technology for five more years; serving as the project coordinator of the Campus Public Emergency Communications Project, a Homeland Security/FEMA-funded grant project in the environmental technology management program.
