Tiffany Chiujung Chen Raiser is an English lecturer in the School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University's West campus. A native of Taiwan, Raiser received her doctorate in English (2001) and a master's degree in educational technology (2000) from ASU. She earned a master's degree in literature from the University of Sussex in Brighton, East Sussex, England, in 1994. Her bachelor's degree is in English language and literature, received in 1989 from Fu-Jen University in Taiwan. Raiser joined the New College faculty in 2002.
Raiser focuses on textual studies and criticism, colonial and post-colonial discourses, cultural studies, literature in its contexts and pedagogy research - particularly in Web-based instruction as it relates to the field of English studies. Currently, she has two projects in progress: translating and editing the "Complete Works of Tsuan-Ming Huang, Taiwanese Writings in Post-Japanese Occupation Era," and serving as instructional designer and developer of "WBI Modules for Writing," featuring Web-based instructional modules to deliver writing lessons.
At ASU's West campus, Raiser teaches writing and literature courses such as first-year composition, critical reading and writing, and professional writing. She is a Wakonese Arizona fellow, an organization of individuals dedicated to promoting and sharing with colleagues the excitement and satisfaction of teaching in higher education.
