Michael McGarry is a senior staff scientist at Adtran and adjunct professor at Arizona State University. He received his BS in Computer Engineering from Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY in 1997. He received his master's degree and doctorate in electrical engineering from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ in 2004 and 2007, respectively. From 1997 through 2003, he was employed in industry by companies, including PMC-Sierra and Yurie Systems (now Lucent Technologies). McGarry's areas of expertise include congestion control and the optimization of MAC protocols for both optical access and mobile ad hoc networks.
