Virgil Renzulli became Vice President for the Office of Public Affairs at Arizona State University on July 1, 2002, and is responsible for media relations; community, local and state government relations; public events; and KAET/Eight, Arizona’s premier PBS affiliate. Before coming to the Valley, he was associate vice president for public affairs at Columbia University in New York, and prior to that was assistant vice president for public affairs at New York University.
Prior to going to New York, he was director of public information for the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and the university's medical center. He has also worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, and as a high school teacher and coach. He has written three novels, "Caliburn," "Beyond the Edge of the Universe" and "Kaleidoscope." Virgil has a bachelor of arts in political science degree from the University of Pennsylvania and did graduate work in marketing at the Wharton School, film at Temple University and creative writing at NYU.
