Navish Wadhwa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and the Biodesign Center for Mechanisms of Evolution at Arizona State University. His lab investigates how mechanical forces influence the behavior of living matter at scales ranging from single molecules to whole cells. Current projects in the lab include how bacteria sense mechanical cues from their environment and how these cues are transduced into biochemical signals to modulate behavior. Research in the Wadhwa lab is supported by a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Prior to joining ASU, Navish was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. Navish holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, a master's degree in engineering mechanics from Virginia Tech, and a doctorate in physics from the Technical University of Denmark.
The Wadhwa lab is currently recruiting postdocs and graduate students. Interested candidates should visit our website and contact Navish at Navish.Wadhwa@asu.edu.
