Professor Towe performs research in the area of neurostimulation, microelectronic implants bioelectronics and biomedical instrumentation. His research work has been supported by NASA, NIH, NSF, as well as by the American Heart Association, Arizona Disease Control Research Commission, Flinn Foundation and the Whitaker Foundation. A recent interest has been in the transfer of ASU neursotimulation technology to small business. Classes he teaches include: BME-413 Biomedical Instrumentation (3) BME-423 Biomedical Instrumentation Lab (1) BME-522 Biosensors (3) BME-566 Medical Imaging (3). Professsor Towe participates in the neuroengineering emphasis within the school as well as in the Medical Imaging emphasis in teaching of the coursework.
