Tzvetelina grew up in Washington, where she graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a B.S in Astronomy, B.S. in Physics, and a minor in Earth and Space Sciences. At UW she researched massive star populations and their stellar evolution in the Local Group galaxies with Dr. Kathryn Neugent and Dr. Emily Levesque, specifically identifying the Red Supergiants of galaxies IC 10 and NGC 6822. At ASU, Tzvetelina is working with Dr. Nathaniel Butler in observing and studying gamma-ray bursts.
