Biography: 

John Genette is a Research Fellow with the I-4C Collective, a guest lecturer in Performance Studies, and co-founder of Storyscope. In association with I-4C and in affiliation with the U.S. Dept. of Arts and Culture, Storyscope strengthens communities by facilitating story circles to foster inclusiveness, as well as training facilitators who bring story circles into settings such as classrooms, social work, interfaith initiatives, and political activism. Genette is also co-founder of the Institute for Civil Dialogue and co-author of "Hot Topics, Cool Heads: A Handbook for Civil Dialogue." As a performing artist/writer, Genette has presented numerous original shows at The Empty Space and he is active in the Arizona storytelling community. Genette is owner and president of Black Mountain Communications Inc., which he founded in 1992.
