Biography: 

Chad Stecher is an assistant professor of economics. His research is in behavioral health economics, and he utilizes econometric techniques from social network analysis, machine learning and behavioral economics to study both patients’ and physicians’ behavior. Specifically, he is examining the role of physician peers in the adoption of new treatments and the de-adoption of recalled medical devices, and he has begun to investigate the role of behavioral automaticity in sustaining proper medication adherence and other long-term healthy behaviors.
