Luke Pérez is assistant professor of civic education in the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership. His research examines religion, political theory, and American national security. His book project draws on his dissertation at The University of Texas at Austin, addressing religious freedom and American grand strategy during the Cold War. Pérez also is a 12-year veteran of the Air National Guard, as an avionics maintainer.
