Paige Safyer is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work. She received her doctorate in social work and developmental psychology from the University of Michigan. Her research takes a neurodevelopmental, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approach toward understanding social-emotional development in infancy and early childhood, with the goal of creating interventions that strengthen resiliency among infants, young children, and their families. As a social work practitioner, Dr. Safyer is especially interested in using play based therapies to explore the internal world of the child.
