Beth Jones joined the Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency (CAOE) staff as Managing Director on January 14, 2019 after completing a 15-year Federal career at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. She works closely with Executive Director, Dr. Ross Maciejewski, on daily Center operations, project support, outreach to DHS entities, and manages private-sector relationship building to support the mission. She is responsible for transition and assists with the Center’s education component.
Prior to her government service she had a lengthy career in the private sector where she held a number of managerial and professional positions which included 25 years at United Airlines. As a United Airlines employee on September 11, 2001, she was drawn to public service to assist in the war against terror and is deeply passionate about the homeland security mission. Beth began her professional career as a public school educator.
She holds a B.A in English from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania, where she serves on the President’s Leadership Council and an M.A. in American Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. She has served on the Board of Advisors, Penn State School of Information Sciences and Technology since 2010.
