Joanne Vogel

Biography: 

Joanne Vogel is the vice president of Student Services with Educational Outreach and Student Services at Arizona State University, where she has responsibility for oversight of student support services and resources, including the Dean of Students Office, student clubs and organizations, international and cultural student engagement, student advocacy, student conduct, and new student and family programs. Prior to ASU, Vogel filled various administrative and faculty roles at SMU, the University of Central Florida, Stetson University, the Devereux Foundation, and Rollins College.

Vogel has published and presented on topics related to college counseling, family systems, childhood abuse, compulsive behaviors, domestic violence, heartbreak, bereavement, and relationships. She co-authored a book on childhood fears, stress and trauma and a chapter on assessment in couples counseling. Currently, she serves on the editorial board for the Journal for Creativity in Mental Health.

Vogel earned her AB in history and political science from Duke University, MS in mental health counseling from Stetson University and PhD in counselor education and supervision from the University of Central Florida.
