I study human emotions to improve health behaviors. I am specifically interested in nostalgic emotions and have explored their effectiveness for people living with depression to seek help. I have also designed nostalgic health messages to promote no-smoking behavior. Social media, mobile phones and virtual reality are the tools through which I reach different audience with health messages. Before joining ASU, I was at Michigan State University (MSU) doing my Masters in Health Communication (2013), and then PhD in Journalism (2018). My PhD was funded by several interesting projects funded by USAID, NSF and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Even before joining MSU, I worked as Behavior Change Communication Manager for USAID (2008-2010), and Save the Children (2010-2012) on international public health projects. Please feel free to reach out to me. I love to disucss new ideas and help students for their academics :)
