Biography: 

Alex Gilbert is a teaching associate for ASU's Writing Programs and doctoral student in the Linguistics & Applied Linguistics Program. Research interests are interdisciplinary, logological, and concern questions related to the self-knowing subject constituted by language. They are interested in understanding the relationship between sociolinguistics and philosophy, particularly in addressing contemporary social and political issues. From Knoxville, Tennessee, they received their B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Linguistics from the University of Tennessee in 2016.
