Jesus Lopez is an artist, educator, and leader dedicated to supporting artists and students. He believes the arts are a key component in both human and youth development. He works to reconstruct predominantly white spaces to incorporate the experiences and artists of historically underrepresented communities. His background as a musician has led him to perform in concert halls around the world.
Jesus Lopez is a Community Director of Vista del Sol and Villas at Vista del Sol residential communities on the ASU Tempe Campus. Supporting Barrett and Upper-Division Housing, Jesus supports residents during their on-campus living experiences. Jesus served as the Community Manager for Fusion on First, one of ASU's newest student residences in Downtown Phoenix that integrates entrepreneurial and community-focused programs. He previously worked as the Executive and Co-Artistic Director for the Latinx-focused ensemble, La Raza Chamber Players. He has also been a teaching artist with Harmony Project Phoenix and the ASU String Project while also maintaining a private studio. He previously served as a Creative Mentor with the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts creating co-curricular programming to serve first-year and transfer students during their transitions into higher education design and the arts curricula. To Jesus, entrepreneurship means taking risks and opportunities to develop yourself, your community, and your field. He is an avid believer that entrepreneurs are creating and redefining the future for a more innovative and equitable society.
Jesus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Administration from Arizona State University.
