Biography:

Dr. David Corlett received his Ph.D. in History from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.  He is currently a Lecturer with the Faculty of Leadership and Integrative Studies in CISA.  Before joining the LIS team he held several university staff positions.  Prior to ASU, he held a Professional Faculty appointment as Assistant and then Interim Director of the National Institute of American History and Democracy and was affiliated faculty with the Department of  History at the College of William & Mary.  As a partnership between William & Mary and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, NIAHD offers programs, courses, internships, and public lectures on American history, public history, material culture, and museum studies. He is currently on the board of directors for several area museums and community organizations.

The Faculty of Leadership and Integrative Studies boasts the nation's largest and most innovative interdisciplinary studies program. They launched ASU's first online degree, the first degree at ASU Downtown (precursor to ASU’s Downtown Phoenix Campus), and ASU's School of Interdisciplinary Studies (later renamed the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts). Their academic program external review in 2007 declared that it was among the five best interdisciplinary studies degree programs in the country.

Today, the Faculty of Leadership & Integrative Studies offers baccalaureate degrees in partnerships at Eastern Arizona College (ASU@TheGilaValley), Western Arizona College (ASU@Yuma), Yavapai College (ASU@Yavapai), Pima Community College (ASU@Pima), Cochise College (ASU@Cochise), and Central Arizona College (ASU@Pinal). They offer a rich array of faculty-led study abroad programs, taking students to work in Guatemalan medical clinics, study Maya indigenous leadership in Belize, prepare for the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic, intern with professional organizations in Beijing, Prague, Vietnam, New Zealand, and Dublin, and enjoy other adventures in Spain, Cuba, the Baltics, Peru, and Bolivia. They offer more Continuing and Professional Education courses than any other unit at ASU—more than 100 courses—including non-credit certificates in project management, agile project management, and leadership skills.
