Dr. Esther Pretti is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar At Arizona State University, working at the School of Sustainability and the Walton Sustainability Teacher's Academies. Her interdisciplinary background forms the basis of her work, which sits at the intersection of philosophy of science, environmental humanities and education policy. Her research focuses on education patterns of representation and engagements with nature, exploring how education policies, practices, and philosophical underpinnings foster environmental injustices, specifically as those relate to BIPOC, women, children and nonhuman beings. She investigates learning through human-nature relationships, relying on posthuman, Black, Indigenous and global South epistemologies. She also teaches disciplines in sustainability education and qualitative research methods at the Mary Lou Fulton Teacher's College at ASU.
