Matthew Wigginton Conway is PhD student in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning. His research interests are in urban transportation, transportation demand modeling, and public transport. He moved to Arizona from Washington, DC, where he was a project manager and software developer at Conveyal, providing public transport accessibility analysis to primarily public-sector clients wishing to improve their transit systems.
Prior to working at Conveyal, Matthew was a fellow in the Data Science for Social Good program at the University of Chicago, where his team partnered with the city of Memphis, Tennessee, to identify and explore the impact of distressed and abandoned properties.
Matthew has also held internships at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, OpenPlans, and Bay Area 511 (SAIC contractor). He holds a bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
2019 - MA (Geography), Arizona State University.
2014 - BA (Geography), University of California, Santa Barbara (Highest Honors)
