Biography

Mr. DeLugt was appointed as a lecturer in the Air Traffic Management program in 2016. Before joining Arizona State University, Mr. DeLugt worked as an en route air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center. Mr. DeLugt retired from the FAA in 2015 after 25 years of service.

Mr. DeLugt earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Arizona State University in 1989. After graduating from the Air Traffic Control Academy in Oklahoma City in 1990, Mr. DeLugt was assigned to Los Angeles Center.

Upon his appointment to the Air Traffic Management program, Mr. DeLugt rewrote the en route curriculum to ensure that students will be fully prepared to embark on their careers as controllers.
