Marko Samara

Biography:

Marko Samara received his master’s degrees in mathematics and in applied statistics, as well as his Ph.D. in mathematics, all from The Ohio State University, where he researched stochastic processes and models in polymer physics. His main areas of interest are probability, stochastic processes and statistics. Apart from ASU, Samara taught at Georgia State (Atlanta, GA), The Ohio State (Columbus, OH), Sanford-Brown College (Columbus, OH) and Belgrade Polytechnic (Belgrade, Serbia). Throughout his career, Samara has taught a wide range of courses, including graduate courses in probability theory, applied statistics, and programming courses in R and SAS, as well as various undergraduate courses in calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, probability, applied statistics and mathematical statistics. Most recently, Samara has been teaching data science classes. He co-authored Probability and Statistics; Theory and Examples, a textbook in Serbian, with Prof. Radmila Zarkovic. Besides teaching, Marko enjoys supervising undergrads in their research/honors projects.
