Biography

Shery Chang holds a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, UK. She joined Arizona State University in 2015 as an assistant research professor at Eyring Materials Centre. During her career, she has carried out research in major electron microscopy laboratories in Oxford University (UK), McMaster University (Canada), Monash University (Australia) and Ernst Ruska-Center, Forschungszentrum Juelich (Germany). She has over 15 years of experience in aberration-corrected electron microscopy, and has published extensively regarding their image formation theory and applications to materials. Her recent research is centered on the combination of advanced electron microscopy and first principle calculations to quantitatively understand how and why nanomaterials work, with a particular emphasis on nanodiamond and 2D materials for quantum technology applications.
