Biography: 

Katie Stalker is assistant professor in the School of Social Work at Arizona State University. Dr. Stalker's research focuses on (1) youth violence prevention across the adolescent social ecology (i.e., juvenile justice, school, family settings) and (2) implementation science for community-centered prevention. A current project is THRIVE in the 05, a holistic, place-based neighborhood transformation initiative in the Oracle/Miracle Mile neighborhood in Tucson, AZ. Key project goals include engagement of and collaboration with residents and community partners; completing a comprehensive assessment of strengths, assets, barriers, and challenges in the community; and developing and implementing strategies that address the identified needs and challenges. In 2019, along with her colleagues, Dr. Stalker received the Community Solutions Research Team Award for her work on the THRIVE in the 05 initiative.
