Peter Lammers joined the faculty at Arizona State University in January of 2015 as Research Professor at the Arizona Center for Algal Technology and Innovation (AzCATI). He is the Chief Scientist for the DOE-funded Algal Testbed Public Private Partnership (ATP3) lead by ASU-Lightworks and Principal Investigator of the Realization of Algae Potential (REAP) Project funded by DOE (2014-2016). REAP partner institutions include New Mexico State and Washington State Universities, Argonne, Los Alamos and Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, and three companies Algenol Biofuels, Pan Pacific Technologies and UOP-Honeywell. Previous positions include Technical Director of the Energy Research Laboratory at New Mexico State University (2010-2014), Vice President for Biotechnology at Solix Biosystems (2009-2010) and Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at New Mexico State University (1985-2009). He received his PhD in Environmental Science-Chemistry from Portland State University in 1982 followed by postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Professor Robert Haselkorn at The University of Chicago.
