Biography

Jeff Kingsbury is a senior lecturer at ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus. He teaches BIO 160, BIO 201, BIO 202, BIO 475,BIO 494, and MED 300. Professor Kingsbury also teaches BIO 160, and BIO 475 classes for ASU Online, is the director of the STEM Teaching Global Intensive Experience in Costa Rica, and is the faculty advisor for the student organization, the Arizona Global Health Project. In addition to teaching, he works with other faculty to help develop approaches to education that integrate technology in science education, with the goal of improving the student experience, and enhance the success of each student.

Dr. Kingsbury has published and presented research on the use of technology in science education at the annual Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) conference. He has authored and co-authored several abstracts, papers, text chapters, and co-authored the 7th edition of the "Anatomy and Physiology Lab Manual" by Patton, as well as the "Anatomy and Physiology Lab Manual" by Hyatt, Kingsbury, Legere, and Penkrot. He is an active member of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS), and the American Physiological Society (APS), as well as an ex-officio member of the steering committee of the society’s Teaching Section. He received a bachelor's degree in biology, and his medical degree from the State University of New York, and is a native of New York State.
