Biography

John S. Brunhaver joined the Arizona State University faculty in 2015 as an assistant professor of electrical computer and energy engineering in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Northeastern University and a master’s degree and doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University. His current research focuses on the design of energy efficient computer architectures and the design automation techniques for implementing them. His thesis, written as a part of his doctoral work at Stanford University, is titled “The Design and Optimization of A Stencil Engine” and examines the procedural generation of hardware for image processing and image understanding.
