Biography

Qing Hua Wang is an assistant professor of materials science and engineering in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy at Arizona State University. She joined ASU in 2014.

Wang obtained her doctorate in materials science and engineering at Northwestern University in 2010 working with Professor Mark Hersam, and her bachelor's in engineering science at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2005. She conducted postdoctoral work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Department of Chemical Engineering working with Professor Michael Strano. Her research is focused on the synthesis, characterization, and application of 2D nanomaterials such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides, in particular studying the interactions of these materials with molecules and materials for applications in electronics and energy. Her research interests also include scanning probe microscopy, optical spectroscopy, self-assembly and nanofabrication. Wang’s research has resulted in publications in Nature Chemistry, Nature Nanotechnology, Nano Letters and the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
