Biography: 

Mary Elizabeth (Maribeth) Hoyle is a second year doctoral student at Arizona State University in the school of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Memphis and an MS in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. Before beginning her MS, she spent two years working on financial statement audits at a public accounting firm. Her research interests include criminological theory, social control, and neighborhoods and crime. She is currently working on several manuscripts which examine topics such as unemployment, the financial crisis, and informal social control.
