Biography

Maria Ocando Finol is a Spanish Linguistics PhD student and graduate teaching associate for the School of International Letters & Cultures. She received her BA degrees from the University of Zulia, and Dr Rafael Belloso Chacin University (Venezuela) where she majored in Education in Modern Languages, and Journalism. She received the GPSA's Teaching Excellence Award in 2016. 

Research Interests

Developing cultural self-awareness through film; intercultural competence; annotating film for intercultural learning; computer-assisted language learning; Venezuelan literary fiction in translation; Spanish subject pronoun expression.
