As Assistant Director for Faculty-Directed Programs and Curriculum Integration, Mandy Nydegger works with faculty and staff in colleges and schools across the university to design and implement faculty-directed programs that take place during all terms. She also focuses on curriculum integration efforts for the office, helping to build and strengthen connections between study abroad and academic units. Nydegger holds a doctorate in English from Baylor University and a bachelor's degree from Milligan College in English and humanities.
Before joining the Study Abroad Office team at Arizona State University, Nydegger coordinated a domestic study away program at Duke University and taught literature and composition courses at Baylor, Milligan, and Northeast State Community College. Teaching provided her with the incredible opportunity to get involved with study abroad programs. She taught Baylor students during a semester-long program in the Netherlands, and she led Milligan students on a month-long program throughout Europe. Through these study abroad opportunities, Nydegger found a true passion for international travel and saw firsthand what a formative experience studying abroad is for students. She hopes that through her partnership with faculty and staff, she can help make studying abroad a reality for as many ASU students as possible!
