Yingyan Lou

Biography: 

Dr. Yingyan Lou is an associate professor specializing in transportation systems modeling and analysis, especially interdisciplinary research in the area of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV) and intelligent transportation systems. In her tenure of more than a decade, Dr. Lou has managed 32 funded research projects supported by various federal and state agencies, including the National Science Foundation, US Environmental Protection Agency, Arizona Department of Transportation, Alabama Department of Transportation, and Maricopa Association of Governments. Her research has led to 33 journal publications, one book chapter, and 27 peer-reviewed conference articles.  She is currently working with the Federal Highway Administration Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory on the cooperative perception feature of the CARMA (Cooperative Automation Research Mobility Applications) platform.

Research Interests: 

Intelligent transportation systems; connected and autonomou vehicles; analysis, modeling and optimization of multi-modal transportation networks and systems; incorporating emerging technologies and decision theories under uncertainties in transportation planning and network operations.
