Biography

Malcolm serves as Associate Director for Corporate Engagement with the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.  In that capacity he leads industry collaboration activities for advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense-related technologies.  Accomplishments include launch of the ASU Manufacturing Research and Innovation Hub, expansion of R&D programs in Additive Manufacturing and Robotics & Automation, and growth of industry engagement activities with students and faculty. 

Prior to ASU Malcolm was employed 15 years at Deere & Company and 8 years at Honeywell Aerospace, serving most recently as Director of Engineering.  He possesses 35+ years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, strategic planning, technology deployment, and executive leadership in a variety of industries including:

  • Aerospace/Defense:         Honeywell, Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics
  • Government:                      Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Energy, Dept. of Agriculture, NASA, NNSA
  • Automotive:                       General Motors, Ford, Navistar, Paccar, General Electric

In addition Malcolm currently serves as Executive Director for Arizona Manufacturing Partnership, a statewide consortium of industry, education, workforce and economic development organizations whose objective is to attract and develop Arizona's next-generation workforce.  He also serves on the City of Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Board of Directors
