Biography: 

Chris Martin is a Professor Emeritus of Horticulture, whose research interests and expertise are in stress physiology and ecological applications of exotic, desert-adapted, and desert-native plants and their role in mitigating urban heating.

Martin is a senior sustainability scientist with the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University, and is a member of the graduate faculty in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Martin has served on the Community Forestry Committee to the Governor’s Arizona Forest Health Council and has been a technical adviser for the national Sustainable Sites Initiative. He is a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science and American Society for Horticultural Science.
