Melissa supports Global Outreach and Extended Education (GOEE)'s Executive Director on a wide range of core initiatives to further international and domestic priorities and partnerships.
Previously, Melissa managed student engagement programs in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) Student Success and Engagement Office, including: the FSE Peer Mentor program, on-campus housing, and first-year student retention and programming initiatives; student clubs & organizations; Entrepreneurship + Innovation initiatives; design challenges and hackathons; leadership consortiums for historically minoritized students; the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative (FURI) and Masters Opportunity for Research in Engineering (MORE) research programs.
Prior to Fulton, Melissa worked at the Downtown Phoenix campus Office of Student Engagement with the Programming and Activities Board, Changemaker Central, student clubs and organizations, and large-scale events, and for ASU University Housing in Tempe. Melissa began her professional career in politics in Connecticut in the legislative branch (Connecticut General Assembly) and executive branch (Office of the Governor) for two administrations: Governor M. Jodi Rell and Governor Dannel P. Malloy.
