Biography:

Kristen Parrish is assistant professor and graduate program chair for construction management in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, one of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.

Prior to joining ASU in 2012, she was a scientific engineering associate, building technologies, for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL).

Parrish’s expertise is in low-energy design and construction. At LBNL, she was a co-developer of ISO 50001 (Energy Management Standard) implementation and documentation for the Department of Energy. She facilitated implementation and operating procedures of ISO 50001 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus.

Parrish has also led integrated project delivery for commercial buildings. Through the Commercial Building Partnerships Program at LBNL, she helped implement best practices in design, construction and operation, managing three projects totaling $1.2 million to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Parrish is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Society of Women Engineers and the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California.
