Kyra is an Interdisciplinary Studies student with concentrations in African-American Studies and Art-History. Kyra has a background in socially engaged art projects and using art as a tool to examine social justice issues. Kyra has worked and volunteered as an art instructor, marketing and communications assistant, resident artist, and project intern with Arizona State University and local Phoenix non-profit orgs. In fall of 2015, Kyra became a part of the Spirit of Service Scholarship cohort through ASU's College of Public Service & Community Solutions, a program that guides leaders to study and actively engage in solving issues that face Arizona's population. In Spring 2016, as a member of the Black Student Union, she helped launch a series of community art programs on ASU's West Campus. She is a former Marketing & Communications Coordinator at The Center for the Study of Race and Democracy and current Management Intern for the Communications Department with Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts in the School of Film, Dance and Theatre.
