Caitlin Matekel is a doctoral student and research assistant at Arizona State University's School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She earned her Master of Science degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2018, her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Arizona State University in 2016. She graduated summa cum laude and as the Outstanding Graduate in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Caitlin currently manages a National Institue of Justice grant examining living and working in restrictive housing and works as a volunteer programs teacher for the Arizona Department of Corrections. Her research interests include corrections, procedural justice, mental health and incarceration, alternative disciplinary approaches, and offender programming and reentry.
