John Undrill is a research professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University.
Undrill’s experience embraces small isolated power systems like those of New Zealand and Ireland, the major grids of North America and Europe, and systems as varied as those in Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, Turkey, Singapore, and Malaysia. His startup and test experience covers hydro, conventional steam and combined cycle plants. Undrill retired from General Electric in April 2006; he continues to be active in power system and power plant control engineering. His is a fellow with IEEE, 1978, and member of the National Academy of Engineering, 2011.
