Biography

Lillian "Marie" Wallace is an applied anthropologist whose work includes social service delivery, program evaluation, aging, and the intersections of technology and aging, sex and sexualities, technology and social change, and the use of technology in adjunctive/complimentary support for trauma related issues. Her most recent paper addressed issues of cultural appropriation and historical trauma at the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences 2018 Congress in Florianopolis, Brazil. Wallace is involved in the Global Apartheid and Marginalized Peoples Commission and the Commission on Women in the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences and currently serves as the Secretary for the Commission on Global Apartheid and Marginalized Peoples. 

As active teaching faculty in the Leadership and Interdisciplinary Studies program, Wallace has supervised senior projects, developed courses drawing from her background in evaluation, her research interests in technology and social change and the impact on work, and her interests in the anthropological understanding of sex and sexualities.
