Dr. Ray A. Ostos serves as the District Director for Student Affairs at the Maricopa Community Colleges. In this role, he provides leadership to district level student affairs programs, including early college and special population programs. He directs grant programs and establishes strategic partnerships with groups, foundations, and organizations.
He has over 24 years of experience in directing and leading educational programs. From 2007 to 2012, he served as the Director for the National Center for Teacher Education (NCTE) at the Maricopa Community Colleges. During this time, he also provided leadership to the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs as its Executive Director. From 2003 to 2007, he served as Director of Community Partnership Programs for NCTE.
Other work experiences include serving as a Hispanic Serving Institution Liaison Officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and working as an Extension Youth Development Agent for Michigan State University. Since 2013, Dr. Ostos has served as an academic teaching associate for Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
He graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Education and a Master’s Degree in Extension Education. He completed an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University.
