Christina You-sun Park is the Assistant Director for the Studio for Creativity, Place and Equitable Communities (SCPEC). The mission of the Studio is to integrate arts, culture and design in community development, planning and related fields in order to help redress historic inequities and create healthy, equitable, more just communities where all people can thrive. Her portfolio at the Studio includes the Senior Policy Fellowship, Faculty Academy, Creative Measurement Lab and Curriculum Integration efforts. She previously worked as the Art Collections Manager for the City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture. Previous projects include evaluating municipal practices through Lean and Design Thinking methods, using data mapping to provide guidance on increasing support for the Phoenix cultural economy, and working to advance a more equitable distribution of public funds in the maintenance of infrastructure.
Outside of the office, Christina is a visual artist, curator, tubist, teacher, and community supporter. Over the past decade, she has worked for various arts organizations nationwide and she is also an instructor at Phoenix College where she shares her passion for lifelong education by teaching 3D printing and 3D Computer Design. Park received an M.F.A. in Visual Art from Arizona State University and a B.F.A. in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University.
