Long Bio
Helene Barcelo is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Arizona State University. Barcelo also served with the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) in Berkeley, CA, where she was deputy director through June 2010. Barcelo's research interests are in the field of algebraic combinatorics and include Combinatorial Representation Theory, Hyperplane Arrangements, Coxeter Groups, Free Lie Algebras and Combinatorial Homoptopy. More recently she has also been interested in the combinatorial analysis of social networks.
