Dr. Kelly’s research examines nurse and patient outcomes associated with clinician well-being. Her dynamic portfolio of funded research includes studies on nurse burnout, the healthcare work environment, and leadership behaviors. Findings from her research have enhanced the way nurses are meaningfully recognized, changed the processes and response to secondary trauma in hospitals, and increased knowledge and awareness around compassion fatigue, burnout, and recognition in the interprofessional setting. In her position spanning both academic and clinical settings, she utilizes her research findings for evidence-based initiatives that results in practice changes.
