Originally from El Paso, Texas Paloma considers Arizona her second home. Paloma Delgado has been at ASU for 8 years in different areas of the university serving as Administrative Assistant, TRIO Coordinator and Advocacy Coordinator in Educational Outreach and Student Services. Prior to serving at ASU, she was an undergraduate social work student in the WATTS College of Public Service and Community Solutions. During her undergraduate years, Paloma participated in various leadership roles: Student Orientation Leader, Program and Activities Board, Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority Inc., and Changemaker Central. Paloma continued to pursue her education in social work and public administration receiving a double Master’s in summer of 2017, from the WATTS College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Throughout her education, Paloma has interned at various community agencies supporting disadvantage populations and developing her skills in trauma informed approaches. Paloma’s passion has been to empower and connect students to the appropriate resources necessary to address personal and/or academic concerns. Her connection to foster care started through an internship at Terros Crisis Mobile Unit and continued in First Star ASU Academy. In her current position, Paloma builds rapport with scholars, caregivers, and other individuals involved to provide support and resources to improve scholars’ post-secondary education outcomes.
