Social development, sex roles and mental health, factors influencing women's educational and career achievements, ethnic minority women's issues, and population and environmental psychology.

Research Projects

  • The relationship of feminist identity and religion to attitudes towards abortion, women, and other social issues
  • The effects of interacting social identities on self concept, self-esteem, values, interpersonal judgments, relationships, attitudes towards women, and mental health with a particular focus on gender, ethnic, religious, and feminist identities of women and men
  • Objectification and its relationship to body shame and mental health over the life cycle
  • The relationship of unwanted pregnancy and abortion to mental health, particularly depression
  • The relationship of childhood sexual abuse and partner violence to unwanted pregnancy
