Adelheid Thieme

Biography

Adelheid Thieme is originally from Germany, where she earned her master's degree in English and French and taught these languages at college-preparatory schools. She relocated to Arizona in 1988 and enrolled in the doctoral program in English literature at Arizona State University. In her dissertation, she researched the manifestation of Anglo-Saxon gift culture in Old English poetry. Since 1995, she has been teaching a variety of classes in the ASU Writings Program (ENG 101, 102, 105, 217, 301, 302). Currently, her main teaching interests are technical and business writing and she is the associate director of writing programs (2014-present).
